We have been advised that Fred passed away on 28th November, 2015 just a few days after his 102nd birthday.
As our oldest 2/6 Vet, Fred had become somewhat of a legend in recent years for his longevity and for his caravanning exploits right up to his 100th birthday.
Our thoughts and prayers are extended to his family, friends and to all those that loved him.

A Memorial Service in Thanksgiving for the life of Mr Frederick Moon was held at Tobin Brothers Bromley Chapel, 457 High St, Echuca on FRIDAY (Dec. 4, 2015) at 2.00 p. m. The Committal Service preceded the above Thanksgiving Service at Rochester Cemetery, Rochester-Heathcote Rd commencing at 11.00 a. m. RSL Ex-service Personnel were respectfully invited to attend both services. In lieu of flowers, donations were requested to be made to Cancer Council Victoria. Envelopes were available at the Chapel.

Fred enlisted on the 6th November, 1939 at Bendigo, Vic at the age of 25. Details of Fred's war service and some recent photos of him can be viewed here .
