 Vale: 01/05/1985

Within one week of attending the Anzac Day march and reunion, Ossie Burnett died from a heart attack.  Ossie was our oldest member having attained the age of 84 years.  He was a grand old man and will be sadly missed by his many mates in the victorian Association.  His burial service at Nhill was attended by Holder Rogers who represented the Association on this sad occasion.  Cavalry members would remember Ossie as John Abbott's batman in the Northern Territory.  (Cav News, Nov 1985)
