Diane Taylor's Darwin Patrol |
Diane Taylor, Daughter of Joe Moran, Visited 2 Cav in Darwin and presented souvenirs of the Aitape Wewak campaign.
Report from Colin BartholomewDI visited the Regiment and presented the artifacts from WW II. We are very grateful to receive such items, they will take pride of place in the Rregimental Museum. The flag will be framed and hopefully the pictures of the surrender being signed will be satellited around the flag. DI had a wonderful time, with a tour of the base in order to experience the day in a life of the modern Australian soldier. I think she was impressed with the facilities available. She was given a brief of the ASLAV vehicle and was introduced to Courage, who always seems to impress the ladies. After being greeted with morning tea, she was invited to view the location where her late fathers treasured possessions will be kept. kind words were exchanged and her father's artifacts were presented to 2 Cav Regt for safe keeping. Captain Colin Bartholomew, Host, receives the flag on behalf of the Regiment.
