Vale Oscar (Ossie) Pomroy NX202915Ossie's son has notified that Ossie passed away on the 31st January, 2015 at Coffs Harbour at the age of 90 after a long illness.Ossie was born on the 15th February, 1924 and enlisted at Lismore NSW on the 12th January, 1944. He was discharged on the 18th September, 1946 having served in B Troop 2/10 Commando Squadron. On discharge Ossie had achieved the rank of Warrant Officer Class 2. Post war Ossie served in the NSW Police Force rising to the rank of Chief Inspector.More details of Ossie's war service are available from his profile on the Regimental Rolls here, including an excerpt from Shawn O'Leary's book 'To the Green Fields Beyond.'Our thoughts and prayers are with Ossie's family and friends. Trevor Limb passed away peacefully in his sleep on 7th August 2014 Love, thoughts and Prayers are with his family and all those who loved him. Through mud and blood To the green fields beyond. A Memorial Service for Trevor was held at the Queenscliff RSL at 2 pm on Wednesday, 20th August, 2014. The family have given their permission for the Service Booklet to be posted on the website. Vale John Matthew (Shorty) Corbett John Matthew Corbett passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at 15:20 on 16/April/2013 at Ringwood Private Hospital, Victoria.Love, thoughts and Prayers are with his family and all those who loved him.He was a real inspiration to many and will be sadly missed.The funeral of the late Cpl. John Matthew (Shorty) Corbett was held on Wednesday April 24th at 1430 hours at Allison Monkhouse Funeral Directors,corner of Stud Road and Burwood Highway,Wantirna South, 3152.
